Type II Commercial Vinyl, Specified and Installed Correctly
For high-traffic walls, we recommend and install Type II vinyl wallcovering (20–33 oz per lineal yard, CCC-W-408D / ASTM F793 Category V) — the standard for corridors, patient rooms, and lobbies that take carts, luggage, and shoulder traffic daily. It’s scrubbable, impact-resistant, and available in thousands of textures that read far richer than paint at a comparable lifecycle cost.
Correct installation matters as much as the product. We prime with mildew-resistant wallcovering primer, use heavy-duty clay or strippable adhesives as the substrate demands, wrap outside corners without seams where possible, and double-cut field seams for a tight, flat finish. On renovation work we test existing walls for moisture and old adhesive before committing a schedule — the honest five minutes that prevents a failed wall a year later.
